Leather bound. 1p.l., viii, -896, 172, 36pp. Thick octavo [24.5 cm] Original full brown leather with gilt stamped titles on the spine and front cover, gilt stamped patterns and scored designs on the spine, and elaborate embossed designs on the covers. All edges gilt. Floral endsheets. Good only. The leather spine and covers are mildly rubbed, and the spine is sunned. There is a 3/4" inch long chip in the leather at the head of the spine and there is a 1/2" closed tear in the leather at the foot of the spine. The corners of the covers are just a little bumped. Hinges going. The text block is cracked at the beginning and end. The front free endsheet and flyleaf are detached, but present. Very sporadic restitching of the inside margins. Tanned pages.
