From the dust jacket- "Science fiction has described Martians as tall blue shadows, microscopic reptiles, gigantic insects, fireballs, ambulatory flowers- because it seemed too obvious to picture them as Little Green Men. Yet, in the perilous year of 1964, when one billion Martians suddenly 'kwimmed' to earth, that's what they turned out to be- two and a half feet tall and bright green (olive in the moonlight)."
