Folio [39 cm] Red cloth covered boards with decorative gilt stamped titles on the spine and front cover, and elaborate gilt stamped floral designs on the front cover. Top edge gilt. Good. The book is a bit warped and concave, The extremities are mildly darkened, stained and rubbed. The cloth at the spine ends is heavily chipped and frayed. Underlying boards exposed occasionally along the edges and on the rear cover. There is a 4" split in the cloth of the front board along the joint. The endsheets are cracked along the hinges, and the text block is coming away from the front cover. Faint numerical notation in pencil on the front pastedown. There is a contemporary owner's name and brief notation on the verso of the front free endsheet. The text block is just beginning to crack at p. 274. The pages are browned, and the first several pages are foxed. Roughly a handful of pages have small stains in the bottom margins.Extra charges apply on this item due to weight. Item #36507
