Hardcover. 343pp. Duodecimo [19.5 cm] Light gray cloth over boards with black ink stamped lettering and ornamental borders on the spine and front cover. Publisher's black top stain. Very good. The extremities are gently bumped, and the marginally darkened spine is rolled. The pages are tanned. With the illustrated dust jacket in very good condition. Moderately soiled, age-toned and chipped. The jacket is also a bit rubbed along the edges. Item #39615

Joseph Hergesheimer first received literary recognition with the publication of his book, The Three Black Pennys, in 1917. His short story, Tol'Able David, was made into a popular silent film in 1921.
