Each volume contains loose plates and an accompanying text laid in a green cloth chemise that is housed in a matching green cloth slipcases with clasps and titles in gilt on the backstrip. Octavos [25.5 cm] The three window plates contain real wood specimens and show transverse, radial and tangential sections. Ex-lib with mostly unobtrusive marks on the plates ("San Bernardino Free Public Library" small by hand in white ink at the head of all of the plates), chemise (bookplates and barcode sticker on the front pastedowns) and booklets (small ink stamp at the head of the front free endsheet and again on the title page). There are no library marks on the slipcases, or on the spines.
