Hardcover. 452; 6pp. Duodecimo [19.5 cm] Original brown cloth covered boards with a gilt stamped title on the spine. Hand colored map opposite the title page with an approximate 3" horizontal tear. The map is heavily foxed. The book is in good condition only. The spine ends and edges of the covers are rubbed. The cloth at the spine ends is frayed, and has numerous small splits. Spine slightly rolled. There is a 1/2 inch long crack in the rear joint at the head of the spine. The front hinge is weak, the front free endsheet is partially detached, and the text block is cracked at the beginning. There is a 1 and 1/4 inch split in the rear endsheet along the hinge. The edges of the rear free endsheet are slightly chipped. There are sporadic very small dark stains on the pages. The pages are browned and foxed. Some pages are more heavily foxed than others. The underlying cords are occasionally visible in the inside margins. Thirty or so pages have small nicks in the fore edges. The book is still quite sturdy. Item #4005
