Good plus. The covers are rubbed and scratched, there is a faint scratched notation on the front board, and the spine is darkened. Missing the front free endpaper, and the endpapers are darkened along the edges and hinges. Housed in publisher's cream slipcase with a gold foil wraparound, in good condition only, with heavy rubbing and several splits in the edges. Dance 009. Item #48806

Illustrated by Lynd Ward with twenty-one engravings printed in black. Printed in an edition of 1250 signed and numbered copies, this is copy 385. Signed by Ward on the limitation page. A story told entirely through wood engravings. This is the fifth of six wordless novels that Ward produced between 1929-1937.
