From the book: "For thirty-five years Henry C. Trost (1860-1933) dominated the architectural scene of New Mexico, Arizona, and extreme west Texas. In a vast area encompassing more than 200,000 square miles he built hundreds of buildings of nearly every type imaginable, from single residences to large hotels and multi-storied office buildings. In designing these buildings he mastered virtually every architectural style current in the United Staes from the 1880s to the 1930s, from the mansarded style popular during his youth to the Art Deco setback skyscraper of the 1920s."
