The Night Chant, a Navaho Ceremony. Memoirs of the American Museum of Natural History Volume VI. Publications of The Hyde Southwestern Expedition

New York: American Museum of Natural History, 1902. First edition. Hardcover. 332pp.+ 8 plates. Folio [35 cm] Rebound in 3/4 black leather with green cloth over boards. Title ("Matthews / The Night Chant") in gilt with double blind ruled compartments on the backstrip. With the original tan and black printed wraps bound in. New endpapers. Ex-library, with just a couple of internal marks. The front hinge is soft. Occasional markings in the text, often light and in pencil. The fore-edge margins of plates 6-8 are trimmed close, obscuring the plate numbers and just a very minor amount of the images. Very good minus. Item #57628
