Octavo [23 cm] 3/4 brown leather with brown cloth over boards, raised bands, leather gilt stamped spine labels, and blind stamped decorative patterns on the spines. Marbled edges and endpapers. The extremities are rubbed and the boards are a bit faded at the edges. The backstrips have occasional small chips to the leather. The cloth on the rear board of the third Ferdinand and Isabella volume is rippled. The front pastedowns have a former owner's bookplate. There is sporadic light foxing throughout the pages, however the majority of the pages are very bright. The volumes are sturdy. May require extra postage due to weight. History of the Reign of Ferdinand and Isabella has 3 illustrated frontispieces, a double-page plate of facsimile signatures, a plate showing the genealogy of Ferdinand and Isabella, a "Map for the War of Granada," a portrait of Cardinal Himenes de Cisneros, a "Map for Gonsalvo de Cordobas Campaigns in Italy," and a plate illustrating the Gonsalvo Fernandez of Cordova medallion. History of the Conquest of Mexico has 3 frontispiece illustrations, 2 double-page maps, and an illustrated facsimile signature plate.
