Treasures of Pioneer History (6 volume set)

Salt Lake City, UT: Daughters of Utah Pioneers, 1952-1957. First Edition. Hardcover. Six volume set. Octavo [22 cm] Green cloth boards with decorative gilt stamped titles on the front covers and spines. All volumes are in very good or good condition. The spines and covers are gently bumped and rubbed. The spines are either subtly rolled, or rolled back, and have sporadic short closed tears in the cloth at the ends. The gilt stamped titles are occasionally faded. The cloth on a couple of the volumes is rippled. There may be occasional small light stains on the covers. The rear cover of volume 3 is a bit more stained. The rear board of volume 1 has a multitude of small abraded patches. The cloth covers of volume 6 are a slightly different shade of green. The pages are mildly yellowed. Gift inscription on the front free endsheet of volume 2. Former owners' names on the front endsheets of volumes 3, 5 and 6. The endsheets of volume 4 are darkened. The hinges of volume 5 are weak. Item #28626

Volume 1 is inscribed by Kate B. Carter on the title page. Subjects include Contributions of the Mormons in Canada, A Pioneer Christmas in Teton Valley, Oluf C. Larson, South Africa's Contribution to Utah, and more.
