New York: Vantage Press, 1963. First edition. Hardcover. SIGNED. 169pp. Octavo [21 cm] Dark red cloth covered boards with a silver stamped title on the spine. Very good. The edges of the spine and covers are ever so slightly rubbed. There are several very small light stains on the edges of the text block. The top edge of the text block has a slightly more prominent stain at the head of the spine. There is a brief gift inscription under the author's inscription on the front free endsheet. Previous owner's address label on the front pastedown. There is a thin 3 inch long colored pencil mark on the rear pastedown. Subtly yellowed pages. In a good dust jacket. Age-toned and heavily rubbed. The spine is faded. There is a loss from the bottom edge of the front panel. The loss measures 1 and 1/2 inches wide by 1 and 1/4 inch tall (the torn piece is present and has been laid in). There is a large grease stain on the jacket, that is really only noticeable on the internal non-visible side. The stain is 2 inches in diameter. The edges are a little chipped, and have multiple very short closed tears. Item #32944
Inscribed at length by the author on the front free endsheet. From the dust jacket- "Here are the instructions, plus a wealth of facts for any pitcher, be he 13 or 79 (the average age is 48). And Reno gives his facts with such zest and enthusiasm that everyone who reads this book will want to get right out there on the court."
