Japan: The Hokuseido Press, 1939. First edition. Hardcover. 238pp. Duodecimo [19.5 cm] Olive green cloth covered boards with a gilt stamped title and decorative floral designs on the spine. Very good. The spine is very subtly rolled, and the cloth along the bottom edges of the covers is slightly moisture rippled. There are several faint tape stains on the edges of the rear cover. There is a bookseller's tiny label on the front pastedown. There is a lot of marginalia in pencil on the contents pages. The dust jacket is in good condition only. Lightly soiled and stained. The closed tears in the edges have been backed with 5 pieces of tape. The longest closed tear is in the paper at the foot of the spine, and measures roughly 2 inches long. The edges are a little creased. Spine subtly faded. Item #33174
