Nice view of thegrounds of the military installation that is three miles east of Salt Lake City, and is now part of the campus of The University of Utah. Good detail and contrast. On the (presumed contemporary) reverse in ink is the notation "Aug. 1894 - Salt Lake City - Utah" Item #37255

A striking image from the renowned pioneer Mormon photographer, Charles Roscoe Savage. Savage was a prolific Mormon photographer who photographed throughout Utah and the western United States. He is noted for taking the first photographs of what would later become Zion National Park and he recorded the construction of the Mormon Temple and Tabernacle in Salt Lake City.
