Inscribed by the author to Hubert Dreyfus on the half title page. Hubert L. Dreyfus earned three degrees at Harvard University, and is the emeritus philosopher and professor of philosophy at UC Berkeley whose main interests, studies, and writings focus on Phenomenology and Existentialism as well as the persistent and fierce critique of Artificial Intelligence. Dreyfus' analysis and interpretation of the work of Edmund Husserl, Michel Foucault, Maurice Merleau-Ponty, and Jean-Paul Sartre is influential, but he is perhaps best known for his in-depth exegesis of the work of Martin Heidegger (which has been published in various articles and volumes).
