The edges of the covers are lightly bumped, rubbed, and sporadically faded. A few of the volumes have slightly slanted spines. The pages are heavily browned. Some of the endsheets are cracked along the hinges, and the hinges are weak. There are occasional gift inscriptions, price stickers, and labels on the endsheets or pages at the beginning. Dave Dawson at Truk is an ex-library edition. The front free endsheet is absent, and the rear endsheet has a label and pocket. The spine and boards of Dave Dawson with the Flying Tigers are damp stained. There is a sticker stain on the front board, and there are a couple of small light stains on the spine. There are large areas of abrasion on the covers and spine of Dave Dawson with the Eighth Air Force. There is a small open tear, along with a tiny hole, in the front free endsheet of Dave Dawson Flight Lieutenant. There is a cluster of very tiny light stains on the fore edge of the text block of Dave Dawson at Singapore. The dust jackets are in good condition. There are multiple chips and small losses from the edges. The largest loss measures 1 inch wide by 1 inch deep. There are occasional closed tears in the edges as well. The longest closed tear is 3 inches long. It is important to note that Dave Dawson at Truk and Dave Dawson with the Flying Tigers have facsimile dust jackets. Item #43851
