Yellow Springs, OH: Antioch Bookplate Company, Circa 1940. Lynd Ward. 76 of what was originally 100 gummed bookplates featuring an illustration by Lynd Ward. Housed in a brown and black paper covered box, in very good condition, with the bookplate illustration repeated on a paper label mounted to top of the box. The box is rubbed at the extremities, and the illustrated label is chipped at the top right corner, and has a small loss from the bottom left fore edge, measuring roughly 1" deep by 1/2" wide. The bookplates are in very good condition. Curled (a natural result of the gumming process) and a bit toned. The image is of a young man reading, with a ship in the background. Item #46678
