The New Testament is included under the title of: "The Holy Scriptures of the New Testament, translated and corrected by the spirit of revelation, Joseph Smith, Jr., the Seer." Flake: 454.

Joseph Smith worked on his translation of the scriptures during the 1830’s. With his death in 1844, the manuscript passed to his wife and it wasn’t published until 1867. This second editon was published in 1882, with a title page that omits "Plano, IL" but is in other respects identical to that of the first; it is believed to have been published in Lamoni, Iowa, but this has not been established conclusively. Though Smith’s translations were based on the King James version of the Bible, he altered over 3,000 passages. According to the book’s preface, the translation "was done by direct revelation from God."
