Salt Lake City, UT: C. R. Savage. Photograph. CDV measuring 6 cm x 10 cm. "Corinne (Utah) M. E. Church" is written beneath photo in ink in a contemporary hand. Fine. Item #51672
Founded by non-Mormons on the Union Pacific line in 1869, the small town of Corinne had its beginnings as the so-called "Gentile Capital of Utah." Its Methodist church, built in 1870, was one of the first in the state. A vestibule has since been added to the one-story brick building; this photograph shows the church in its original, unaltered state.
