SIGNED by the author on the title page. Martin Corless-Smith is the author of English Fragments: A Brief History of the Soul, Swallows, Nota, Complete Travels, and Of Piscator. A limited edition chapbook, Roman and Moscow Poems, was published in 2011. He was Truman Capote Fellow at the Iowa Writers Workshop, and holds an MFA in Fine Arts and Printmaking from SMU and a Ph.D. in Creative Writing from the University at Utah. He is currently the director of the MFA Program in Creative Writing at Boise State University.

From the publisher, on Nota:
Nota is part travelogue and part philosophical examination. Corless-Smith here makes a compendium: layers of reference, of history, of text over text over text. Invented and real figures watch over a Self who admits to a history beyond the moment of simple consumption. The setting is an England in its Golden Age, a homesick construction to be consumed, with pleasure, in the discomfiting knowledge of its artificiality.
