Hardcover. 352pp. Octavo [24 cm] Purplish brown cloth covered boards with a gilt stamped title on the spine and blind stamped decorative patterns on the spine and covers. Good condition only. The underlying boards are exposed at the corners. The spine and surrounding areas on the covers are faded, and there is a one inch loss from the head of the spine. There are also two large chips in the backstrip of the spine. The larger chip measures 2 and 1/2 inches. There is a small white stain on the front cover. There are multiple very small dark stains on the edges of the text block. The top edge of the text block is darkened, and has a small rubbed patch. The front hinge is a little weak. The pages are lightly foxed, and have very occasional small stains. The text block is fragile in multiple places, however the book is still quite sturdy. Howes: K323. Item #5501
