Vigesimo-quarto [12.5 cm] Saddle-stitched wraps. A small journal with 24 pages of handwritten pencil notations. The wraps are rubbed, and there is a thin damp stain along the top edge of the front wrap.

A 1903 travel diary which details a trip from Nebraska to California, and has roughly 4 pages of notes pertaining to Utah and the Mormons.

"Utah Lake is in this valley fresh water a river conicts [sic] this lake with Salt Lake. Arrived in S. Lake 1 P.M. went & got room to stay overnight then went to Station to see if Aiken came but he did not come we then went and saw the great Mormon Temple Also went to church. Such Buildings. Sutch [sic] large Audience & Quire [sic] that Sang it was wounderful [sic] there must of [sic] been 500 or more Singers in the quire [sic] & thousands of People in the Tabernacle we were not alowd [sic] to go into the Temple it is a very large building Saw the Beehive & the Lyon [sic] houses. These are Residence of Brigham Young the Eagle gate was erected by Young in an early day of the history of Salt Lake Mormons came to S. Lake in 1857 there was 40 men 3 women 2 Children they Camped where the City hall and Court house now stands." Item #55136
