Album of Lake Tahoe Vacation Photos
1915. Limp suede album (measuring 21 cm x 14.5 cm) with burned floral design reading "PHOTOS" on front cover. Covers laced at the spine with a leather thong. Fifty-five 3.5" x 2.5" sepia-tone photographs pasted in. Included at the rear are three real photo postcards (one loose), and a small clipping from an advertisement. Handwritten label on front pastedown states: "My Trip to Lake Tahoe with Mr. & Mrs. Pauline Seigfried. July 2, 1915. Dorothy Federspiel." Minimal wear. Item #57653
One finds records of a Dorothea Federspiel living in California during this time frame. She would have been fourteen at the time of this trip. This Dorothea Federspiel married a Martin Anderson and is buried in Napa Valley.
The first ten photos have handwritten captions in the bottom margins; the remainder are unidentified. Over half the shots feature people, while the others are scenic.
