From Publisher: Pliny the Elder (Gaius Plinius Secundus) completed the thirty-seven books of Naturalis Historia in AD 77. The Translation by H. Rackham, continued after his death by W.H.S. Jones and D.E. Eicholz, was first published by Harvard University Press in the Loeb Classical Library series, in ten volumes, between the years 1938 and 1962. For this Folio Society edition, the text of the Preface and Books 1-2 follows the revised edition of Loeb volume I, published in 1949 and that of Books 3-7 the first edition of the Loeb volume II, published in 1942.
