Leather bound. 520pp. Octavo [24 cm] Black pebbled leather over boards with ornamental blindstamping. Title gilt stamped on front board and backstrip. All edges gilt. New endpapers. Seven illustrated plates. Ex-libris S. W. Woolley, with his name stamped in gilt on the front board. The extremities are a bit rubbed, and the title on the spine has faded. The text block is cracked at the beginning, and at this crack, the inside margin of the recto of the frontispiece portrait has been reinforced with cloth tape. There is a small tape repair to p. 385.
