Created by J.C. Henneburger, "Weird Tales" began in 1923 as a series of pulp magazines with an eye towards horror and gore. Perhaps one of the most influential publications in the world of science fiction, it was a pioneer in the art of limiting a magazine to one genre of writing. Cult favorites such as H.P. Lovecraft and Hannes Bok gained recognition through their presence in the pages of early issues of "Weird Tales"
