Prior to her death, famed Depression-era photographer Dorothea Lange was gathering photographs and writings for this "little book," about a beloved cabin in coastal California where she spent time with her family. She considered the cabin a legacy for her children and grandchildren; a mythical place where they could embrace nature. Friend Margaretta K. Mitchell took up the project, having been familiar with Lange's wishes and sharing a love for coastal wilderness. The result is a lovely shared effort, "a doubly rich reflection of the place and the people who find themselves more alive to the world because of it."
