The first title in Utah-born John D. Fitzgerald's hugely popular series which spanned eight volumes, all set in the fictional town of Adenville, Utah. Fitzgerald won the Young Reader's Choice Award for children's literature for the "Great Brain" series in 1976 and 1978.
