The booklet, purportedly issued in an edition of about 600 copies was done as a fund raiser for the Albuquerque chapter of the Sierra Club. The essays are: "In Praise of Mountain Lions" by Edward Abbey, "Some Words in Behalf of a Predator" by John Nichols, and "The Mountain Lion in New Mexico" by Carol Cochran.
