Stegner's history of his childhood home. 'Mormon Country' is a term that applies to the area that Brigham Young and his followers colonized in the mid to late 19th century. The area includes: Utah, southern Idaho, western Wyoming, western Colorado, eastern Nevada and northern Arizona. This area was originally named Deseret by the Mormons.
