A very thorough and heavily illustrated history--spanning nearly eight centuries--of a noble family with medieval roots in Nuremberg, Germany. Genealogical material concerning the American line of the Kress family was contributed by Charles Rhoads Roberts.
Hand numbered 596 on the vibrant chromolithographic limitation page, but the space underneath intended for a mark of ownership has been left blank. According to the donor plate, this copy was originally housed at the Kress Library of Business and Economics at Harvard University. The Kress Collection of Business and Economics is recognized as one of the premier rare book collections in the world, with special focuses on Adam Smith and the South Sea Bubble stock market crises of the early 18th century.
