Section three of part three (p 187-190). The section is titled "Sects Not Calling Themselves Christian". The sections perpetuates much of the myths, misconceptions and bigotry of the day. As an example it refers to the Spaulding manuscript in passing, "It is now known that they [Book of Mormon] were written by a half-crazy preacher in 1812, as an historical romance." The bias of the piece can be summed in the following sentence "It is now hoped that by the increase in the 'Gentile' population and the active efforts of the Christian missionaries the sect may be shorn of its political power, if not driven out of the country, and perhaps gradually obliterated". Flake/Draper 5069.
