There is a gift inscription on the front free endsheet. The hinges are just a little shaky. The dust jacket is in good condition only, with heavy rubbing, chipped edges, and several losses from the edges. The largest loss is to the paper at and surrounding the head of the spine, and measures 3/4 of an inch deep by 3 and 1/2 inches wide. There are also several small closed tears in the edges.
