Boston: E. Gately & Co., 1893. Hardcover. Oblong quarto [23 cm x 30 cm] 3/4 leather with blue cloth covered boards. Rebacked with a plain cloth spine. Fair condition only. The covers are heavily abraded. The underlying boards are heavily exposed along the edges, corners, and surrounding areas on the covers. There are three gouges in the cloth and boards of the front cover. The gilt stamped title on the front cover has faded. The corners of the covers are bumped. The front hinge is broken, and the text block has almost completely pulled away from the spine and covers. The rear endsheet is split along the hinge. The front free endsheet is creased. There are very sporadic closed tears in the edges of the pages. The longest closed tear measures 4 inches long. Marginalia in pencil on about twenty of the pages. There are occasional light stains on the pages. Several pages are a bit more stained than the others. There is a small open tear in the inside margin of one of the pages. As is. Item #30283
