302; 16pp. Duodecimo [19 cm] Navy blue cloth over boards with gilt lettering and single gilt ruled borders on the spine, and embossed designs on the covers. Sixteen pages of publisher's adverts at the rear. Good plus. The covers are gently bowed, the edges of the spine and covers are bumped, and there is a large area of light staining on the rear cover. The spine is slanted. There is a large notation in pencil on the front free endsheet. The front hinge is a little shaky. The pages are browned, and have very occasional small stains. From the collection of Berkeley book collector and letter press printer, John Ruyle, with his notes in pencil on the front pastedown.

Short stories, some weird. "The Black Monk" is a story of insanity brought on by the vision of a supernatural being- a mirage of a black monk, 1,000 years old.
