The title is stamped in gilt on the backstrip, and there is an ornamental design stamped in black and gilt on the lower fore edge corner of the front board. Good plus. Bumped at the head of the spine, and the surrounding areas of the boards. The edges of the boards are just a little faded. Pp. 15-18 are detached, but present. The top gutters of the margins are just a little bumped, and the pages are toned. The dust jacket is tattered and torn, with loss. Item #43386
Includes sixteen black and white illustrations (with tissue guards) by John Vassos. John Vassos was a 1930's book illustrator and long-term industrial designer.
