New York: Jonathan Cape and Harrison Smith, October, 1930. Limited edition. Hardcover. SIGNED. 118 images. Octavo [25 cm] Black cloth with illustrated paper labels on the front board and backstrip. Top edge gilt and fore edge deckled. Illustrated endsheets. Housed in a black slipcase. The book is in very good condition. The extremities are gently rubbed, soiled and faded. The spine is heavily faded, and subtly rolled. The title label on the spine has a very small loss from the bottom right corner. There is a small damp stain at the foot of the spine, and there is a 7 inch long light blue colored pencil mark on the front board. The boards are barely perceptibly concave. The illustrations are very slightly offset on the opposite pages, and the pages are lightly tanned. Despite the subtle tanning, the pages are actually quite clean and bright. The book is sturdy.
