Chicago, Akron and New York: The Werner Company, 1898. Hardcover. Oblong quarto [24 cm x 32 cm] Tan paper over boards, lettered and pictorially stamped in black and brown ink on the front cover. Fifteen half-tone plates with the titles printed in red on the tissue guards. Fair condition only. Rubbed at the extremities. Fair condition only. The front cover is partially detached, and has large areas of very light damp staining. The front hinge is split, and there is a small crack in the rear endsheet along the hinge. The pages are moisture rippled, and the bottom margins are moisture stained. Item #38525

Remington was well known as an illustrator, mostly of western and military subjects, for many of the widely circulated magazines of the late 1880s and 1890s, including Harper's Weekly, Harper’s Monthly, Century, Collier’s, Outing, Boys’ Life, and Cosmopolitan.
