Elephant folio [58 cm] Thirteen single suites housed in a boxed portfolio, covered in a Bugra laid paper, and created at the bindery of Richard Mayer, Stuttgart, West Germany. The portfolio is in near fine condition, with a previous owner's bookplate on the portfolio's front pastedown. The illustrated suites are in fine condition. The slipcase is in very good condition, with rubbing and light staining. The spine ends are bumped, and the underlying boards are exposed at the head of the spine. Complete. With the publisher's leaflet tucked in. Item #40592

This is copy number 1261 in an edition limited to 2800 (2500 single suites) portfolios printed for the members of Editions Medicina Rara, Ltd. at the Curwen Press Ltd., London, England, on specially made paper bearing the private watermark of Medicina Rara and manufactured by E. Towgood & Sons, Sawston, Cambridgeshire, England. The plates for the printing were produced from thirteen original drawings, commissioned by Medicina Rara specially for this purpose.
