Translated from the German by J. B. Mussey. From the dust jacket- "Waldemar Bonsels was born in 1881 in Schleswig-Holstein. After school-days spent in revolt against the authority of home and teachers, he left behind him the whole world into which he was born, and set out on a life of wandering.
