This book includes the instrumental pieces on Kate MacLeod's Deep in the Sound of Terra CD (music inspired by landscape and nature) with an extra chapter of tunes not on the recording. For each piece, the melody is notated along with the chords for accompanying instruments. The music can be played on fiddle/violin, mandolin, and other melody instruments and is excellent material for use by students, teachers, and professional musicians.
Kate MacLeod is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Her fiddle playing is inspired by Easter European music, by Classical training, and by a lifetime steeped in American and Celtic traditional music. She performs throughout the United States and into Europe, teaches at music camps, and performs as an instrumentalist and vocalist with other touring musicians.
