Decorative endpapers. The backstrip is faded, and the boards are also discolored at the edges (more so the rear board). The front board is a bit marked, with the most prominent mark measuring roughly 2". There is a previous owner's name in the inside margin of the terminal leaf. Very good minus. Item #55708
"Salome" was the first of nine books that would be illustrated by Vassos between 1927 and 1935. Includes thirteen black and white illustrations by John Vassos who also designed the endpapers. Number 242 in an edition limited to 500. Signed by Vassos on the limitation page.
