Malvina Reynolds (1900-1978) was a well-known and influential singer-songwriter of the folk and protest music genres primarily in the 1960's and 70's. Pete Seeger recorded and made popular her best-known song, "Little Boxes", a scathing indictment of suburbanism and the cookie-cutter homes popping up in the 60's.

Reynolds writes this short note to an autograph collector, "I should think one of my books or records would be a more meaningful heritage, since it would tell your boys what I am much more surely than my signature would. However, here is my autograph. Very truly yours, Malvina Reynolds."
