The Northern Idaho settlement of "Rathdrum" was originally called "Westwood" but had to change its name in the early 1880s due to there already being a town named Westwood in the region. The image shows a ranch with planted crop lines in the foreground. At least six building structures can be seen beyond. Three women and two men (whose names, presumably, are the names written on the rear side of the mount) are posing for the photograph at a middle distance in the fields.
