The Red-Figured Vases of Lucania, Campania and Sicily. Volume I: Text. Volume II: Indexes and Plates (Oxford Monographs on Classical Archaeology) - 2 volumes
Oxford: At the Clarendon Press, 1967. First edition. Hardcover. 699pp. (in text volume) plus 256 plates. Quarto [28.5 cm] Navy blue cloth over boards, with gilt stamping on the spines. Extremities lightly bumped and rubbed; small scuff marks to the bottom fore-edge corner of the text blocks. The fore-edge corners of the plate volume are a bit abraded, the result of having sustained some light moisture damage. The dust jacket of volume 1 has a small loss from the top edge of the spine, obscuring a bit of the title, and measuring 1 and 1/2" wide by 1" deep. There are also a handful of smaller closed and open tears along the edges. The rear panel of the dust jacket of volume 2 is subtly dampstained from the head to foot near the spine. The jacket still presents relatively well. Overall, despite the aforementioned flaws, the set is quite attractive. May require extra postage due to weight. Very Good / Very Good. Item #68387
