Illustrations by John Edwin Jackson. A first edition from the author of "The Land of Little Rain." Mary Austin (1868-1934) was one of the early nature writers of the Southwest. Her writing, which often focuses on Native American life, is reminiscent of the work of Ralph Waldo Emerson and John Muir.
