Black and white photograph [approximately 7.5" x 9.25"] printed on white matte photo stock [approximately 11" x 13.75"]. The "Haynes Inc. Yellowstone Park" insignia is blind stamped at the lower right in the margin beneath the image. The Haynes, Inc. number and title is stamped in ink on the reverse. A few tiny bits of glue and paper residue on the reverse, presumably from previously having been mounted. Corners are very gently bumped. A clear, sharp, and elegantly composed image. Near Fine. A gorgeous photograph, nicely printed here, looking down on this (now dormant) geyser, located in the Midway Geyser Basin of western Yellowstone Park, with the Firehole River in the foreground and a dense forest of pine in the background.

"Jack Ellis Haynes was born in Fargo, ND on September 27, 1884, to photographer F. Jay Haynes and Lily Snyder Haynes. He was the youngest of three children. Jack began working in his family's photography business in St. Paul, MN at a young age and joined his father for summers in Yellowstone starting in 1897. Jack Ellis Haynes succeeded his father the family photography business eventually taking ownership of the Haynes Yellowstone National Park businesses in 1915" (Archives West: https://archiveswest.orbiscascade.org/).
