Tiny smudge near the center of the image. Pinholes at each of the corners, which are also very gently bumped. The Haynes, Inc. number and title is stamped in ink on the reverse. Very Good. A nice, highly contrasted, softly focused, almost impressionistic image, showing a straight on view of the most famous and reliable geyser of Yellowstone Park. Old Faithful's consistency is due to its not being connected to other thermal structures in the surrounding area.
"Jack Ellis Haynes was born in Fargo, N.D. on September 27, 1884, to photographer F. Jay Haynes and Lily Snyder Haynes. He was the youngest of three children. Jack began working in his family's photography business in St. Paul, MN at a young age and joined his father for summers in Yellowstone starting in 1897.
