With Woodcuts by Hendrik Glintenkamp. Glintenkamp (1887-1946) is primarily remembered for his anti-war illustrations that appeared in The Masses and other publications in the early 1900s. Inscribed by journalist, author, and lecturer Silas Bent (1882-1945), in the year of publication, on the half title: "For____, / My most inspiring / teacher, / Silas Bent / March 17, 1930." Bent worked as a tabloid newspaper reporter before turning to media criticism. He predicted that the evening edition newspaper would eventually be killed by the evening TV news.
