Top edge gilt. Decorative endpapers. Small chipped loss from head of spine. Boards just a hair warped. Negligible fading to the spine. Underlying boards peeking through at the corners of the covers. Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll with Illustrations by Eileen A. Soper. Three color plates and many black and white drawings. Eileen Alice Soper (1905-1990) was an English etcher and illustrator of children's and wildlife books. She made her first etching at the young age of thirteen. The theme of childhood was a main theme in her work, and she was known for illustrating books for Enid Blyton and Elizabeth Gould. The Art Institute of Chicago holds her work in its permanent collection.
